Off Lake Bridge, Emo, Ontario - 2014

The Sharp Group began work on the Off Lake Bridge, located north of Emo, Ontario on Hwy 615, on September 3, 2014. A completion date of November 7, 2014 saw them well ahead of schedule. This job consisted of replacing an existing wooden pile, timber deck with a concrete overlay bridge, with a brand new 100 ft. double-lane Mabey Modular Bridge.

Little Grassy Culvert, Bergland, Ontario - 2014

The aging culvert located on Hwy 600, west of Hwy 621, near Bergland, Ontario required replacing.  Three galvanized pipe culverts were replaced with a precast culvert structure.  It was critical to meet the road closure deadline of 6 days, since the detour was long. The Sharp Group was able to complete this job in the time allotted.

Little Grassy River Bridge, Bergland, Ontario - 2014

The Sharp Group started work on the Little Grassy River Bridge, North of Hwy 600, located next to the Bergland Store commencing on July 14th, 2014.  The timber pile with wooden deck, double-lane bridge was replaced with a new 100' double-lane Mabey Modular Bridge.  A detour route was required during this construction.  Final paving was completed in August, 2014, ahead of schedule.

Yongeberg Bridge, Bergland, Ontario - 2014

This bridge is located east of Bergland, Ontario, on Hwy 600.  A 120ft double-lane modular bridge replaced the aging timber pile/wooden deck bridge.  The Yongeberg project was completed in July, 2014.

Seven Mile Bridge, Fort Frances, Ontario - 2014

In mid-May work began on the Seven Mile Bridge located on Rainy Lake, east of Fort Frances, Ontario.  A multi-span bridge was removed and replaced with a new clear span 120ft concrete box girder bridge.  Traffic density was high at this location and as the smooth flow of traffic was ensured.  Completion took place mid-October, 2014.

Panko Narrow Bridge, Manitoba

The Sharp Group constructed a new 210 ft. Acrow Panel Bridge at Panko Narrows Bridge job site.  The bridge work in this northern Manitoba location was completed in harsh winter conditions in March of 2014.  It is important to note that the construction of this bridge assists in extending the winter road access in northern Manitoba

North Current River, Thunder Bay, Ontario

The collapse of a culvert on Hwy 527 on the North Current River created an emergency situation requiring immediate replacement. A temporary modular bridge was installed for traffic while work on the 12.5 metre clear span, multi-plated arch culvert was completed. This project was completed quickly and efficiently within the time constraints.

Pelican River Bridge

The Sharp Group commenced work at the Pelican River job site, Northwest of Dryden on August 12, 2013. This job consisted of replacing an existing structure with a modular bridge on Haukeness Road, off of Highway 605,

The newly constructed modular bridge over the Pelican River was completed in October, 2013.

McCauley Creek Bridge Replacement Complete

The concrete bridge replacement 20 km West of Atikokan has been completed over a month prior to the expected completion date of August 30th. The Sharp Group is please to announce that traffic has resumed to normal over the McCauley Bridge.

Concrete Bridge Replacement - McCauley Creek

Work at the McCauley Creek job site, located just 20 km West of Atikokan, commenced April 2nd, 2013. The replacement of this concrete bridge structure spanning a total of 21 m is currently ahead of schedule. The Sharp Group foresees the completion of this job to precede the scheduled completion date of August 30th.

Bowsman River Bridge Completed Ahead of Schedule

Construction was completed on October 19th, 2012, 11 days ahead of the MIT deadline. The Sharp Group is appreciative of the patience and considerable hospitality of the Swan River community.

Rainy River Tributary Update

Removal of existing concrete culvert and construction of modular panel bridge is currently in progress at the Rainy River Tributary bridge site located outside of Fort Frances, Ontario.  Road closure for the improvements to the culvert commenced August 9th and tentative date for road re-opening is slated for August 30th.  Detour access around the job site via Oakwood Road and Bone Road.

Bowsman River Bridge In Progess

The Sharp Group is currently rehabilitating an 80 ft. cement bridge on the Bowsman River North of Swan River, Manitoba. Traffic is currently limited to one lane, directed by traffic lights, as repairs on the West side of the bridge continue.

Work at Wolf Creek Jobsite Begins

Work at the Wolf Creek jobsite South of Emo on Colonization road began today. This modular bridge is part of the Rainy River Tributary project, which also includes a cement culvert on Colonization road just outside of Fort Frances.
